The History of Our Annual Latino Health Summit
Celebrating over a decade of driving meaningful conversations, partnerships, and solutions to improve Latino health across Greater Houston.

Our History
The Hispanic Health Coalition launched the Latino Health Summit in 2013 as an annual conference dedicated to improving the health and well-being of Houston's Hispanic and Latino communities. Beginning in 2018, the Summit transitioned to a biennial event and has since been held in 2018, 2022, and 2024. The 2020 Summit was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Today, the Latino Health Summit is recognized as Houston's premier conference focused on advancing Latino health. It brings together healthcare leaders, medical professionals, public health experts, researchers, policymakers, community organizations, and advocates to address the most pressing health challenges affecting Hispanic and Latino families.
Through expert presentations, panel discussions, and collaborative dialogue, participants explore current and emerging health issues impacting the community. Topics include obesity, cardiometabolic disease, diabetes, mental health, health equity, preventive care, and other critical issues affecting the region's Hispanic population.
The Summit also serves as a catalyst for collaboration and innovation, fostering partnerships that strengthen preventive health initiatives, improve access to quality care, and promote healthier lifestyles and better quality of life for Hispanic families across Greater Houston.
Over the past decade, the Latino Health Summit has established the Hispanic Health Coalition as a trusted leader and influential voice in advancing health equity and improving the well-being of Houston's Hispanic community.
