Maria E. Cantú-Ondarza

Maria E. Cantú-Ondarza, M.Ed., MBA, is passionate about improving Hispanic health across multiple disciplines. She previously served as director of development and community giving at Legacy Community Health, where she led fundraising efforts for programs and capital campaigns and oversaw the organization's Little Readers initiative across 46 pediatric clinics.
Ms. Cantú-Ondarza brings extensive teaching experience, having taught at the Facultad de Trabajo Social, Cervecería Cuauhtémoc y Famosa, private international bilingual schools in Monterrey, Mexico, Christus Medical Group and Legacy Community Health.
She is also an active community collaborator, partnering with organizations including the March of Dimes, the Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation, the Mayor's Adult Literacy Initiative, the Mexican Consulate's Red Global, Reach Out & Read-UTHealth Children's Learning Institute and the Asociación de Empresarios Mexicanos-Woodland.
Ms. Cantú-Ondarza earned a master of education from Universidad de Monterrey and a master of business administration with a concentration in healthcare from the University of Phoenix.
